Abhijit d says
This has been an amazing read for learning Debian . keep up the good work.
Carey Walker says
Started reading the ‘squeeze’ version (English) from start to finish as a learning exercise (have a Raspberry Pi).
Noticing a few small typos and sometime strange wordings, probably from the translation, so will start to keep track of these and post some wishlist bug fixes as I progress. Thanks for a great document.
Raphaël Hertzog says
Thanks Carey, please verify in the wheezy version (either on the web or in the git repository directly) before reporting though. I tend to fix those on the fly when I update the chapters so chances are that some of them are already gone.

There are unresolved bugs in the Debian bug tracking system, or ar least not marked as resolved, don’t forget us!

BTW, yesterday one/october/2013 I emailed you both (@debian.org) and got “CNAME lookup failed temporarily. (#4.4.3)”
Raphaël Hertzog says
Hi, I do get mail on my @debian.org so it must be some hiccup or problem on your side.
S says
Bonjour.
“… A package of priority between 500 and 990 …”
Shouldn’t it be 501 – 990?
From man apt_preferences:
*500 < P <=990*
causes a version to be installed unless there is a version available
belonging to the target release or the installed version is more
recent.
*100 < P <=500*
causes a version to be installed unless there is a version available
belonging to some other distribution or the installed version is
more recent.
Avec mes respectueux hommages, je vous prie d’agréer, Monsieur Hertzog, l’expression de ma considération la plus distinguée.
Raphaël Hertzog says
Thanks, will fix it.

Hi toske, we’re again working on it and we hope to finish the update at some point in november.
